This weekend we displayed our Packer pride proudly and bravely! The Packer vs. Cowboy game will be on in about 3 hours...we'll see how proudly we will fly it next weekend. I'm a little nervous.
School is going well. The newness has died off a bit and "someone" who is 7 and a girl is getting a little disobedient and lazy. I am trying to nip that in the bud, so she has had some discussions with daddy this week. She is learning about the sun and one of her experiments was using a magnifying glass and a candy bar. We were amazed to see how we can use the sun's energy to create a flame. I was planning on eating that candy bar after the experiment, but it didn't look so delicious afterward! This was a fun one, but if you have a kid who is fascinated with fire, it could be dangerous. Jalyn is playing soccer this season and so far no luck. They haven't won yet, but she is determined to get a goal. We will definitely have to post when that happens.
As for Mason, he won his game this weekend and he scored!!! James taught him where to stand so he basically stands by the goal and waits for the ball to come to him. This time it worked to his benefit. The rest of the team actually goes after the ball. I guess he doesn't see the point when he can just stand there and eventually it will just come to him. Smart kid! Speaking of smart, he is reading books already. We got him BOB books that have the simple three letter words and by the end of the week, he is reading it on his own. Each week we start a new BOB book and he is so proud that he can read all by himself.
Since Devin got a perfect score on the Texas Standardized Test last year for sixth grade, he has been given the opportunity to take the ACT test as a seventh grader. The ACT is the college entrance exam that high school juniors take. This gives him the opportunity to experience what the exam will be like and obviously give him an advantage when he takes it as a junior. We will find out more of the opportunities that will be available to him at a meeting this week. He's pretty amazing!
Hope you all are well. GO PACKERS!

Well, looks like you may have a hard time flying that flag...proudly next week, hey? I was waiting for the next blog, I am glad to hear things are going well. To bad Jalyn is not so interested right now. I am sure she will come around, she is a good kid. Well, I will talk to ya on the Forum. Love you. Tell everyone I miss them.

I would have eatten that candy bar! Not sure, if I would do this experiment with Joe. Could be a little dangerous. Hopefully Jalyn comes around for you. I'm sure she will but, I will continue to pray for you and the success of homeschooling. Take care and good to hear from you.
